Who is Marie Louise de Monterey? Part 2
Lord Monterey owned a hotel particulair in the 16th Arrondisement and spent a good deal of money building separate quarters for Annyuska where she could carry out the remaining months of her confinement. He was messaged in the last days and made a hurried journey to Paris but Annyuska died giving birth. The sight of the baby, frail and of poor health, caused Monterey to cry until his grief caused his black mane of hair to turn white as snow. He named the baby Marie Louise after his own mother who had died giving birth to him. Her eyes were bewitching deep blue which he called the "Aegean depths" of which he said contained all the "tragedy o a great heroin."

Who is Marie Louise de Monterey?
Marie Louise de Monterey was born on the 6th of January 1900; the daughter of an illegitimate union between an English Lord and a Russian peasant girl whilst on vacation to recover from bad health in the Black Sea. When Anyuska was found to be pregnant she was banished from her village. She had sent a letter to Lord Monterey who agreed to send her enough money so that she might make a journey to Paris. When he arrived in Paris he found Anyushka had grown frail from the journey and that her confinement had taken its toll upon her. He did not love her but he felt sincere compassion for her plight and for his part in the affair.
